I visit Rosie O’Donnell’s blog almost every day, I enjoy her. I am always amazed at the nasty, sometimes violent reaction she brings out in some people. But I want to pass this on, Rosie printed it on the home page of her blog, it was sent to her. I’m sending it as a reply to every anti-Obama email I get. It’s civil and just a little frightening to see in print. Most of the comments are amazing! I am adding a few to the diary, but read the comments, well worth the time!

You finally got mad when the government decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick.ย Yes, illegal wars, lies, corruption, torture, stealing your tax dollars to make the rich richer, are all okay with you, but helping other Americans…oh hell no.
Update: Thank you, I’ve never been on the rec. list. Not sure if I deserve it, but I really respect Rosie O’Donnell, and she said “pass it on”. If anything it gives you a response to all those insane armeggedon emails or those crazy relatives you just can’t ignore.

Isn’t it interesting that Obama is continuing so many of the Bush policies? The war in Iraq has not ended. The war in Afghanistan has been escalated. The richest of the rich got bailouts under Bush in 2008 and that continues under Obama. Bush ran big deficits and Obama’s are more than double Bush’s worst.
Only blind hatred of Bush is stopping the author from seeing that Obama has taken Bush’s worst traits to the next level.

Is that where rights come from? The government? Sure, the government is set up to protect your rights, but it does not grant them. A surf is granted rights by his lord. A free person is born with rights that, here in the United States of America, the government can not legally infringe upon.
Health care is a generally a privilege. If an able bodied person does not think that they are worth the effort required to earn their own health care why should I? Its a different story if the person has a congenital condition preventing them from doing so.
So back to the surf idea. If the government provides for your housing, food, and now your medicine it is a little bit like you are a surf to the government. Is that what you really want?
What contributions would such a person make to society? Would they become a scientist to develop the next technologies? Would they be a farmer to feed their nation? Hell, would they become a doctor? If your answer is yes, your dream fell with the Berlin Wall.
And who is going to pay for all this anyway? “Deficit neutral” only means that additional taxes have been raised to pay for the new health care program. It is definitely not “free”.

All of the items this moron listed, yes, I am mad as hell about. But I can tell you this. Under no circumstances am I going to purchase some inflated healthcare policy because a Kenyan national says I’m going to! Talk about push back! Hell no! Forget it. This bill will absolutely be repealed, as it should. It will bankrupt all 50 states given the mandated Medicaid for indigents. It will also bankrupt the USA. Yes, I have read the bill. 99.9% of Americans have not and wouldn’t know what they were reading if they tried. You have to have a law degree to understand that the intent of the bill is to wipe out all future benefits via Social Security and Medicare by imposing fines on those who will not comply! 48 billion in fines, of which 99% will be noncollectable, yet the idiots who put this massive fraud together use that phantom revenue in their calculations. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.
Doctors are not going to see patients for the same fees that Medicare pays, and this bill mandates exactly that! That is why people have to have Medigap Coverage…supplement policies. And that is the part that the MSM and even FOX News has yet to tell the public. Obamacare means you will have to purchase a gap policy from an organization like AARP in order to have affordable coverage. That’s why AARP backed this bill! They want to sell their gap policies to the 18 – 64 demographic – HUGE!
I for one say go to hell Obama. Take your socialist agenda back to Kenya where you came from!

Between this and the poking fun at religion, I’m very tempted to unsubscribe from this normally interesting daily article. Also, the article whining about ad blockers….really? Ad BlockPlus innovated, maybe your site should, too.
Agreed that this is the worst article ever and the author is clearly not educated. Health Insurance is a privilege, not a right. If you want health insurance, get a job. The constant deflection of every problem back to Bush is absurd. How about taking some responsibility for the crap policies Obama has shoved down our throats. You want to talk about illegal? How about the government forcing you to purchase a product? Hence the 38 states which are calling this bill unconstitutional.
I’m not saying Bush did everything right, but hindsight is always 20/20, and those who oppose the war quickly forget that we haven’t had a terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11. You’re welcome.

The democrats used a perfectly legal and legitimate procedure because the republicans were dead set on not being bipartisan. If you don’t like it you can move to another country, but almost every other 1st world country already has universal healthcare, so you’re SOL
