A fierce letter-writing campaign by fans of the show allegedly saved it from cancellation in 1968, but in each season, the network moved the show to a different, and progressively less desirable, time slot. The series premiered at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday nights, but by its final season it was relegated to Friday nights at 10 p.m., airing its final episode on June 3, 1969.

I am 60 years old, so I was around for the 1st Star Trek. The original series will always remain my sentimental favorite, and I very much enjoyed TNG. That being said, my favorite series of all time is Voyager. The premise, the writing, and of course the acting are marvelous. One of my family’s favorite pastimes is to name a character that could have been left out and not detracted [substantially] from the series. Riker should have died instead of Yar. However, there is no character in Voyager that would not be missed.

p.s. Enterprise SUX! Perhaps it would be better with another actor as Archer.
