Wouldn’t DROPBOX count as well? On the client side, every file has an option to right-click it to find out the public URL.

The fact that DataNest just spammed this blog, plus the fact that it’s not free despite the fact that the article is titled, “6 FREE File Hosting Websites that Would Be Useful”, is more than enough reason NOT to use DataNest.

Well, I certainly wouldn’t say they (MyDataNest.com) spammed the blog. However, I gave them a chance regardless, and was rather pleased.

Just my two cents, and yes, they are free — with paid options.

Thanks for the list of file hosting sites. I like using a file mirroring site like http://www.upload-this.com because I just upload my file to them and it gets hosted on a bunch of free file hosting sites instantly. They have really nice download pages that you can password protect. This is the only site I’ve seen that doesn’t look half bad and doesn’t barrage you with advertisements.

Beats me why anyone would upload files when they can send large files directly to the contacts computer. Try Binfer [http://www.binfer.com]. It does encrypted transfers, auto resumes and more. You will never upload another file again 🙂
