25 Truly Stunning HDR Pictures

Collected by Digital Picture Zone

Applied carefully, High Dynamic Range-technique (HDR) can create incredibly stunning pictures which blur our sense of the difference between reality and illusion.

“In computer graphics and photography, high dynamic range imaging (HDRI) is a set of techniques that allows a greater dynamic range of exposures (the range of values between light and dark areas) than normal digital imaging techniques.

Here are 25 stunningly beautiful HDR photographs.

If by “stunning” you mean “stunningly gaudy and overprocessed” then yes.

99.999% of HDR is tacky, tacky tacky.

It’s like a few years back when Apple released the ‘Aqua look’ and all new web kids on the block had to have buttons and menu looking like the (then) new UI for Mac.

It would be great to see more natural photos without the silly highlights, tweaks and what not.

    The article mentions “applied carefully”.
It would be nice to see some examples of that.
Back in the day, “HDR” was known as dodging and burning (see Ansel Adams).
I’m not sure what you should call the chroma manipulation seen here.

Beep the naysayers. These are creations that took time and thought. I applaud the image enhancers.
