It’s too bad that NBC did such a serious Hack job with the coverage. Best opening ceremonies ever – worse coverage ever..

Wasn’t it just the most spectacular opening ceremony ever!!!

It’s wonderful, what kills me most is the fireworks. It’s indeed a spectacular and the best so far…….. Thumbs up for the organisers.

just wanted to say that i cannot possibly imagine any other country emulating what the chinese have done for an opening ceremony. the vision and the execution was breath taking. the discipline required of the performers deserves a gold medal on its own. the beauty of all of the fireworks display around the city made me think of china as this living breathing entity (heck, i wouldn’t be surprised if aliens from outer space made contact after that light display!) bravo to the opening ceremony! my only diappointment is that i did not have the opportunity to witness in person this once in a lifetime theatric event, and that my local papers did not do justice to the reality of the exhibition.

    Awesome pics. Thanks for sharing.

I my remaining lifetime, I’m waiting to see if any other country can perform any better this time in China.

Looks like the “Boycott Beijing Olympics” crusade actually helped the TV ratings which is the highest ever for a foreign production. Bet they’re pissed because their crusade backfired.

The ceremony was spectacular. Five thousand years of Chinese history flowed on a huge LED scroll that unrolled to chapters of China’s 5,000-year civilization.
